Hi, I am Jolanda Keeris, ADHD-er, married and mother of 2 adult children. My passion has always been teaching teenagers, but unfortunately due to an autoimmune disease that was no longer possible. Our daughter then asked if I wanted to go to painting lessons with her. I thought that was fun: mother and daughter. Eventually we stopped: terrible teacher. She stopped altogether and I started painting with Hanneke van der Zanden. I wanted to learn different techniques. There I still paint in a group of 8 people. I also stay there because it is very sociable and you learn a lot from each other (Long Life Learning).
With Hanneke I paint different things than at home, at home it is really about the colours and the feeling. With Hanneke more after painting and improving my technique. From my studio in Veldhoven I bring my ideas to life, often inspired by the endless stream of thoughts that go through my mind. For me, painting is a natural process: it feels as if the colours and shapes end up on the canvas by themselves. My paintings are partly created from my own inspiration, but I also like to work on commission. Whether it is a personal story, an emotion, or an atmosphere, I love to process that in my own way in a work of art.
